the sound definitely come from the top of the speaker; where the compressed air is able to leave to speaker house; on low volume there no problem but if I turn up (about 40 on my BS9000) its there and if you know its there you can hear it; it is worst at passages with powerful bass only;

I haven't tried to remove the cover yet - its very tight to get it off and I fear not doing me a favor trying to get it off...

I have to ask an expert

My guess is that a speaker rubber surround(s) is/are split!

Quite common on these.

Hello!

Thanks for your answers and the picture! Maybe my problem is uncommon - hopefully... First I thought it's something in the room which vibrates through the bass-"waves" but the noise definitely comes out of my BL 8000...

I thought about some screws or anything removable to "unlock" the cover - but according to the pic it is clamped - in my case the tension seems to get loose.

I'm going to report any improvements!

How obnoxious is the sound coming from the speaker? The 8000s are ported at the top which can chuff a little as you turn the volume up on bass-heavy music...

I have replaced the covers once and its a tight fit. The diagram makes it look easy. I found it best to lie the speaker down on a towel on the floor to do it. Might be easier with someone helping you.

Hi Elmar,

sorry that nobody has answered to you before - it may be an oddball problem that no-one else has had or your post may have just slipped past anybody who might know.

Anyway, to me it sounds like the frame of the cloth is somehow loose - the bass drivers might have problems, but it would be unlikely to be cured by you pressing on the frame.

The full service manual is, of course, on site for silver and gold members, but I'll attach a pic of the fret removal. I'm not near my Beolabs so I could try it and I don't quite understand the picture either, but perhaps you do, and manage to fiddle it back to correct shape during the holidays

Hello!

I have got BL8000 - which make a noise at the top of the textile cover; especially when the bass driver is working; I think it is produced of vibration of the cover itself - hopefully its not the bass driver behind?!; but when I'm going to tighten the textile pressing my finger against it the noise vanishes

So please tell me: Did you have a similar problem? And when yes how did you solve it?
