Anyway, I agree with the others. It's a fine system and hang on to that Beocord, they are
not too plentyful today and it makes the system complete. Besides, how many people are able
to play a cassette tape today ? I get lots of requests for tape and vinyl conversions to PC from
owners who regret parting with their players.

What speakers are you using ?

You can play CDs through the BM1100 via the Tape socket. A Beogram CDX would be a good choice. You will need an adapter cable as mentioned above.

The BM1100 is however from what I would call the Audio range which means it was designed as a more budget range with less power than the top of the range models but in a compact and easy to use format. The Hi-Fi range was represented by the BM3000 at this time. The main problem you will have with the 1100 is the paucity of connections. I wonder if an Airport Express attached to the Tape input might not be you best way forward or simply a cable from the audio out to the Tape input. You will then be able to control your music by remote.

Re: new beomaster owner needs help

Hello Andrew and welcome to the Beoworld forum!

The Beosystem 1100 is very fine indeed

1. You can use the "tape" input with a 5-pin DIN plug to RCA converter, Sounds Heavenly makes good cables.

2. You can play MP3's via iTunes, then you can use an RCA selector box, so you can switch between Mac and CD-player.

3. The Beomaster 1100 is the "Hi-Fi" range of B&O products, at line with the Beomaster 901. A fine reciever. The Beogram 1100 is also a very fine record player for the B&O novice. The Beocord is one of the very first B&O Cassette recorders, it is okay, but there is no Dolby noise reduction. Overall a good system <a title="Laughing - ">

You can use the Beoworld site and beocentral.com for reference on your system

I have just inherited a beomaster 1100, a beocord 100 and beogram 1100. i think this adds up to the beosystem 1100. Its literally just arrived in the house and I'm hoping someone might be able to offer me some advice

1. I don't have cassettes so I'm hoping to attach a cd player to the beomaster . This is possible isn't it?

2. I'm trying to work out how I can play mp3's via the computer (mac) and wondering how, or even if, I can do this?

3. How good a system is this? I know I should play it and see but you know what I mean

If you can help with any of this I'd be very grateful.

Andrew
