Then Keith mentioned that you can update your BL3500 to SW3.33 but would provide no bebfit unliess your unit was a Mk2 version and you plan to use wireless. Did you say an Mk2 version because of the ML socket or is there more to it then that?

Seeing that I have a older BL3500 yet it has both MCL and ML sockets would I get the full benefit of going to SW3.1 or 3.33?

Regards,

When you upgrade a Beolab 3500 Mark 1 to version 2.1 as defined in the FAQ it changes the display as follows:-

A.TAPE      -> A.MEM
A.TAPE2    -> N.MUSIC
V.TAPE      -> V.MEM
V.TAPE2    -> DVD2
CDV          -> DVD
PHONO     -> N.RADIO
SAT           -> DTV

The part number for updating the software by replacing the micro processor PCB36 to 2.1 is 8006009

You could update your Beolab 3500 to version 3.33 by using part number 8002944 but would provide no benefit unless your unit was a Mark II version and you plan to use wireless.

Updates after 2.1 to 3.33 provide Master Link Gateway compatible and A.AUX command is now possible. Version 3.1 provided wireless compatibility.

Re: Software Update Beolab 3500 - Which Part number?

Hi Keith

Yes, that is the guide, and very useful it is too - thank you.

My question was in reference to the previous post - has the sw version changed to 3.3 with this latest pcb, and is it applicable for all versions of the beolab 3500, or just the later ones?

Louis:

version 2.1 changed the display names to n.music/n.radio

you can do this by replacing microcomputer PCB36, part no.: 8006009

or now there is sw 3.3 which allows it to support the a.aux command and ml gateway compatible!

you have to Exchange the uP module PCB36, part no: 8002944.

i pressume it will be better to go with the later one i believe its compatible as long as your beolab 3500 has an ML socket.

Louis

Can someone (Keith saunders perhaps) check this part number please. If it is the case, then his guide should be updated.

Btw cost for the 8006009 is now apx £43 inc vat.
