I too thought my beolink was kaput last night. Then after searching through the threads and finding stoobies advice on short circuiting, voila!! all is well again.

Worked for me too! I just couldn't figure out what was wrong with mine, but shorting out the battery contacts brought it back to life. Handy trick with the phone camera too.

Wonderful tip - yes it worked for me - had tried the digicamera to id operation of led's alas nothing but now i have a huge cheesy grin and a working bl1000

If you use a digital camera or camera on a cell phone pointed to the IR end of the Beolink you should see the LED's flashing. At least that will indicate if there is a "stuck" button or any life at all when a button is pressed.

Have you tested the two capacitors inside?

Tony, replacing the main-pcb (OrderNo 8007900) and, if it's a pre MKIII BeoLink 1000 ´

(STEP <> instead of arrow UP/DOWN to change program/title) also the set of buttons

(OrderNo 2776010) should be the solution ...

It reminds me of getting my Beovison LX5500 from an auction some years ago.

The Beolink 1000 did not work but I could turn the LX on by the buttons.

I went straight ahead down to the nearest B&O shop and got the print replaced.

The LX and Beolink 1000 still works to this day.

Did your ma get a plasma tv set recently.... Those disturb the reception for b&o signals.

Had this issue trying to control an Beocenter AV5 that was close to our plasma TV.

Is there any dirt under the contact foil? Water, salt, dirt, CocaCola, beer...

It's possible, that the BL1000 thinks, there is a button activated all the time.

Just what I was going to say. I had the same problem with A Beolink 1000 a few years back. Cleaned it and it has worked perfectly ever since.
