Not had the invoice yet but as the last lot were £25 each I'm guessing and hoping that this latest lot will be no more than £30!

My dealer was exactly the same, and as a result, they no longer exist.

I've been looking at those refoam kits on eBay too, but not sure if I have a steady enough hand - let me know how it goes Nicky - seems a bit daunting at the moment!!!

The Always On problem is is probably TR3 on PCB2 (front PCB) which is leaking, BC337-40. Also a common problem. After replacement I am almost 100% sure the problem is solved.

Thanks Evan, don't suppose anyone has a rough idea of how much the replacement mids are likely to be from B&O?

Anyone have any clues as to the "always on" cause?

Congratulations!

The failing mids are very common. Replacements are available new from your local B&O dealer. Re-foaming is also very popular.

I'm not sure about your amp though.

Penta 2 Questions

Hi, I recently acquired a set of Penta 2's as part of a 6500 setup that I bought through Ebay. Initially I had planned to resell the Penta's as I didn't much like the look of them, however having got them home and listened to them I'm now more than inclined to keep them! Which leads me to a couple of questions:

1. One of the speakers is permanently "on" as soon as power is supplied - No combination of the switch positions changes this (even if switched to "off"), and I have tried different Powerlink cables all with the same result. The two fuses are also okay - is this likely to be a simple DIY fix or do I need to get them serviced?

2. The same speaker also has some fairly bad foam rot on the mid-ranges - again can this be easily DIY'd, or would I be better to replace the driver units, and if so where would I get them from?
