Just a couple of quick questions:

1. Did you use a DVI to HDMI cable or DVI to HDMI connector? Any particular quality difference between the two models (I need to run at least 2/3 metres)? Can you recommend a make - Belkin?

2. Any recommendations regarding the Digital optical cable? Again I have found a Belkin model - Belkin Pure AV Digital Optical Cable at approx £9

3. How did you upgrade the sound modules?

I noticed on another discussion (BV 7-40 with DVI port - Switching Project) that you were thinking of, or have a HDMI expander/splitter. Did you get one in the end? I am thinking of getting one for the BV40 MKII.

1. I have seen two models - Gefen 1.3 441 and OneRemote 8281. It seems most people use the Gefen?

2. Do I need to update the BV software to 7.7?

3. Can you control all connected products (STB, Apple, etc.) with the Beo4?

4. Any other tips/recommendations on a DVI to HDMI expander.

I used a similar Topfield box with this configuration. Hope some of it helps.

Used the DVI connection and the optical audio connection. The STB controller option will be Topfield 5800 from memory, though others may work. The B&O service centre emailed the Beo4 key mapping. I also upgraded the sound modules... The Ir lead was installed by the server centre, I can't recall where it was.

BeoVision 7 40 MKII with STB Topfield 5810 PVR (500MB)

Has anyone got any experience/recommendations in regards to using the BV7 40 with a Topfield 5810 PVR?

Connection setup – Video and Audio via Scart

· Should I simply connect the TF5810 via a Scart cable with the BV7?

Connection setup – Video via DVI and Audio via ????

· Or would it be better to use the DVI port for the Video signal?

· Has anyone used a DVI to HDMI convertor and/or DVI to HDMI cable? Is there any difference between them (quality, etc.)?

· For the Audio signal, which is the optimum connection (Scart, digital)????

IR remote booster for Beo4

· I believe that this should be a pretty straightforward procedure.

· Is the IR sensor on the TF5810 pretty simple to locate

BV7 software update for Beo 4

· The BV7 has been recently ‘flashed’

Topfield TAPS

· Are there any key TAPS to use

· Are the TAPS downloaded directly onto the STB or via computer (MAC)

Any advice would be appreciated.
