Hi Doctor,

Thanks so much for that, as you found, the manual is useless! It was not easy finding my way into the MENU where those instructions came up, but I eventually found it. Anyway, I have now finalised 3 discs and will be trying them at a friends tonight!

It says they may take more than 30 mins to finalise, but it seemed to be between 2 & 5 mins when I did it so hopefully it went correctly. I will report back tomorrow on my sucess (or lack).

[Edit] - that worked and the DVD's played im my friend's DVD player.

I see what you mean! The manual is useless!

I found this:

Finalise discs

To be able to play a DVD+RW/-RW in a different DVD player, it is necessary to finalise it. After this no further editing or recordings can be made to the disc.

> Load the DVD+RW/-RW in DVD 2

> Press GO then 3 to enter edit mode

> Use the arrow buttons up or down to highlight 'FINALISE' and press GO


	·	A message appears:
	·	> press GO to proceed, or
	·	> select 'CANCEL' and press GO to cancel the operation

Finalising a disc may take more than 30 minutes.

While finalising a DVD+RW/-RW, do not open the disc tray or switch off the system, as this may render the disc unusable.
