Yes, it needs a visit to the Bang DR. Mine has done the same thing after being in extended storage. Essentially the CD mechanism has died. The mechanisms needed to be used regularly as a batch of lubricant for some of the mechanisms is prone to hardening and not allowing the CD lens to move correctly.

I guess that this is a cd interface fault which requires expert intervention or a replacement cd mech kit by a service centre.

Re: Beosound 3000 - Help

If cleaning does not help, pull the plug and wait some 3 min. and start up again.

Re: Beosound 3000 - Help

Hi - I've tried with a few, but will try cleaning the lens

Re: Beosound 3000 - Help

Try with another good cd, not a burnt copy, and clean the laser lens carefully with a cotton swab.

Beosound 3000 - Help

My BS3000 which was bought new and about five years old has had little use of the CD, however now when I try to play a CD it constantly says Load CD - I have tried to power it off and on but this hasn't helped. Is there anything I could check to see if it's just something that's stuck. The disk spins up but nothing else happens and load cd comes up more or less straight away. Does it need a visit to the repair shop?
