Run it with my BG 2404, Ipod, computer, flatscreen, to BS 3000

It is quite sensitive to picking up noise from transformers etc but works great once you've got it in the right place.

I guess so much depends on the cartridge and turntable you are using as well. It would be good to have some sort of guide to good pre-amps and which ones people recommend from experience. This would be useful given that all the recent stuff doesn't have a preamp built in and the huge premium that is being charged for B&O turntables with built in pre-amps.

Re: Pre-Amps with non-RIAA Beograms

The Nad PP1 is pretty good - I have one and think it sounds fine. I also have a ProJect Phono Box though which is especially fab.

The pre-amp really does leave quite a big mark on the sound...

Re: Pre-Amps with non-RIAA Beograms

I'm no expert but I think any decent quality preamp will do. In fact, I think you can have better sound with a separate preamp compared to the built in B&O one. Considering separate preamps can go for thousands of dollars, the sky is the limit in terms of what you can spend.

Pre-Amps with non-RIAA Beograms

Hi,

This is probably a common question, sorry I'm new to this forum, but what is the requirement / specification for a suitable pre-amp to connect non-RIAA Beograms to a standard, non B&O amp? For example would a NAD Phono Preamp PP1 be suitable or do you need something more specialised?

Thanks in advance for your help.
