I purchased the Samsung BD-D7500. Very pretty, matches B and O very well. Unfortunately, it does not work and will be returned. I connected it by HDMI and set it to output PCM to my BV7-55. If I put a disc in with uncompressed 7.1 PCM, all worked beautifully. However, if I put a DolbyTrueHD or DTSHD disc in, the player decoded the track and then downconverted it to 2.0.

I called Samsung support, I was then connected to "Tier 2" support. After a lengthy discussion with them, they confirmed that there was a problem. They elevated it again to some higher level of tech support and gave me a reference number. I was told they would call me back. They never did. When I contacted them to follow up I was told that they had no record of any incident matching the reference number they gave me.

It matches B and O so well it is really a shame that it does not work.

The PUC version 2.XX is meant for the new Beo4 1710 with navigation button, which got two sets of left-right/up-down buttons, that send different commands / for channel up/down and next/previous. But should also work with "older" Beo4s. Try Go - UP , GO - DOWN, GO - LEFT....or disable navigation button in BV10s MENU.

the new PUC works only with the new beo4!

i bought the new one and voilà it works!!!

@ Misled the problem lies with the PUC that has been flashed. There are/were two versions of each code sets running alongside each other, ask your dealer for sw version 2.00 and do not select beo4 navigation if you are using an old beo4. I have had first hand experience of this on two occasions!

The new BDD7500 will work perfect en fitt's very nice at the back side of a beovision 10. It's also availeble in black

The PUC list is pretty big at this point and I don't know if it being published in print anywhere, but your dealer can certainly confirm the support for any device.

The good thing about Blu-Ray players is that they tend to recycle remote codes within brands. So Sony, Panasonic, Pioneer, Samsung etc. are all generic codes that operate any blu-ray player.

Same goes for media servers, and other types of set top boxes.

Rant....

I do find asking a dealer or service for which boxes can be controlled by a STB akin to pulling teeth. Maybe its my approach...

Hi Koning,

I completely agree with you. This mediaplayer is simply the best in term of ability to read any format, display subtitles... It just need to be hidden (it is not very design... ;) and lack from a nice interface.

Not necessary. In the menu of your tv you can disable the navigation button, so you can use it with your remote.

Are you using the "old" Beo4?

Navigation button is probarly "on". Navigation button is used for the new Beo4.

i have the samsung bd-c7500 connected to my bv10-46 with puc.

the only problem is the up/down and left/button don't works! (the installation have make my dealer).

any ideas for this problem?

There are two very slim Samsung Blu-Ray players that are very well suited to BeoVision 10, and are controllable with Beo4 & 5 via the PUC table. In addition, STBbrackets make mounting solutions to allow the player to be located “out of sight”, on the rear of the BeoVision 10 (and other BeoVision models).

I have also seen STB’s latest configuration tool which they demonstrated to some acclaim at the dealer conference in Aarhus…..wow that will be something when it is launched in the spring………..I’ll post details later
