Martin's log in is Dillen. The advice is to glue the magnets of the bass units to the frame of the speaker. If they fall off, and they do, the speaker is broken.

I agree 7700 is a superb system - I'm bringing mine back at the weekend to see how it compares with S75 speakers against BS3000 and BL4000 - maywell end up using that for music and leave the 4000's as Avant front speakers. The BS3000 will then remain as part of the link system and as a CD player for the 7700

My first B&O, an excellent Beocenter - have only good memories, worked without any flaws, allowed me to wire my first apartment (after university), and to enjoy the luxury of music in several rooms. It was magic.

There's actually a Beocenter 7700 for sale on the local "craigslist" and I've been very tempted - but I have a lot of B&O.

Don't hesitate.

Congratulations to whoever has the chance to buy a 7700 ! I have one from 1985. Completely overhauled in 2005 it works as strong as ever. I would also agree on the S45 (check foam rot). Mine had to be redone in 2004, but with a second life now.

The 7700 system with original remote is doing its job in a standalone setting apart from m/l. A great icon of B&O and a milestone in "art and music". Check it out and buy one.

The BC7700 is one off the finest pieces of B&O I ever owned. I had it matched to a CDX & some MC120.2 speakers and it was just brilliant. Due to an ever expanding B&O collection something had to go and as I owned 2 other complete audio system I chose this - something I often regret.

I kept the speakers though as they are simply the best B&O passives I've heard and are very hard to find in the condition mine are in

The P45 is an excellent choice - slightly bass light like the S45.2 but very accurate. Will work very well with the 7700 but check the bass units and glue them as Martin suggests !

I would imagine an Avant 28 DVD is rarer than a 32! I use a 32 and it is a super set and works well with a 9500. The Avant is stereo but adding external speakers makes it superb. It can be used as a stereo itself of course. I have BL4000s as fronts on the Avant these days and the sound is wonderful.

Doctor, actually we have already BC9500, sound is really great, despite we use P45 speakers. Now we are looking for panel BV4500 or 5000 to match.

Is it good to use P45 with BC7700?

Meanwhile-the next we are looking for is Avant 28" with DVD. I think it will be difficult to find 32". Doctor, do you know any problems with this TV? Probably tube need to be replaced? Or any other issues with this TV?

We saw this TV and the picture was relly excellent, the sound is amazing. We are curious-is it stereo speakers or we need to set-up stereo system with some loudspeakers?

You will probably need new cassette belts fitting and it does have the infamous red capacitors which will be leaking by now. However this is well worth getting fixed. This music centre can be seen as a mini 8000 system in many ways except that it is far more advanced from a control point of view. The amplifier is 'only' 40W a channel, but these are the old proper watts! The cassette player is the same as the 8000 system and the radio is also excellent. The record player is a radial deck and none the worse for this - it is based on the 1700 but with the new arm.

It is a toss up between this and a 9500 for the best music centre made by B&O - clearly one's choice of sources will dictate the one to buy. I have nearly bought one of these so many times! It is rather big though!

I agree. The BC7700 is a great system. As above really, put either the S45.2 or a bigger pair of uniphase and a CDX with it and I reckon that you would have a superb sounding set up capable of putting some of the newer systems to shame.

The Beocenter 7700 is one of the greatest B&O music centres ever made

I would recomend a pair of Beovox S-45's, the three way model. Great build quality and typical warm B&O sound!

A matching CD player would be a Beogram CDX or a CDX2, but the 3000, 3300, and 4500 will also do fine
