Hi jldmelb, I think my English is quite good. I indeed wrote LAMPS referring to the brains................ Unless of course Leslie considers himself a LAMB!!!!! The Greek version would use another word not proper for this forum.......

HiI have both types, but cannot get at them to check - however in earlier posts mention was made of compatibility issues - I did NOT encounter these issues and both types worked happily with my setups!

I do have an issue with one currently in a BS4 / MX7000 system in that the box does not work as prescribed ie an internal software problem of which Vienna has informed Struer, so maybe in the future a resolution may surface - I have my doubts as the tv is older technology and I do not know if the same problem exists when used in a BS4 / newer tv system.

I did however sort a work around which seems to work(not ideally but there you go!)

My solution as with Spiros - GO FOR IT!

Leslie I do experiment and got no problem with it. For sure I'm not going to lose my sleep if something goes wrong from my experiments. So YES, I dare........

Craig, you mean the connectors from all units on the outside have ML and PL/Audio Aux connectors?

Should be a 1611 (if the description is right and nothing else missing). An experiment would tell.
