Been thru' various checks.

Seems the board has expired.

Now whether to replace the board or getting another telly..!

Re: Humming speakers

Not sure how well you know how to set speakers up, so i'll assume the worst and take it from there..

On your TV menu, check your connections, sound and speaker type. Make sure you've chosen the correct speakers in the menu and also have them at the correct levels.

Secondly, check the switches underneath the BL6000's and at the back of the 8000's. Make sure they are switched to left and right. You get a pretty bad hum when they are accidentally switched to 'Line'.. It's easily done. Finally, if you've had the carpets up - check you haven't knocked a spike from a gripper-rod through a cable. One broken wire inside a powerlink cable can cause all kinds of annoyances!

If you have the menu on the TV correct, the cables are good, and also the switches on the speakers are correct - it's almost certainly your dolby board. That said, in all my time dealing with B&O i've only replaced ONE dolby board. The other hundreds of times it's been one of the other items i've mentioned.

Good luck

Now......

When I select any speakers instead of the tv speaker, there is a humming, mainly thru' the LF lab 8000.the RF speaker is quiet, but has sound.

This also happens when a CD is played.

CD "Rattle and Hum" by U2?

I have a Beocentre 9500 conected thry' a converter to these speakers.

Now......

But I want to be serious ...

Did you check the antenna cable? That was MY problem ...

Antenna cable in: Hummmmmmm

Antenna cable out: Peeter Vähi, Supreme silence part three (Complete silence)

iPoditiv

Seems that faffing with the plugs has stopped the humming.

But.....

Now this it shows the rears are not running.the green light comes on..but no sound.

Seems the distribution of sound has gone haywire.

What is the symptom of the sound card dying.?

Is it a diy replacement ?

Re: Humming speakers

First see if it is the cable - swap the front cables on the back of the
Avant. If the LF still hums, it is either the speaker or the cable. Then
try swapping the speakers. It sounds like an earthing issue so I would
guess there is a fault in one of the speaker plugs - check they are all
fully pressed in!

Humming speakers

Been a while since I have been here...!........But now need a little help.
