If memory serves me after 15 + years, the ceiling brackets were purchased at the B&O store in Frankfurt, with that set of BL 4000 speakers, and some custom runs of cabling for the ceiling application. I'll have to dig them out from the celler shop to see the actual model Nr.

Same store for the other ceiling brackets for the BL 4 speakers. Those brackets are fixed and do not articulate, so the speaker grid of the " prism " shape must be angled towards the audience.

Looking up just now, another good point regarding the BL 4 ceiling placement is that they can be cleaned more easily, and the speaker grille colours changed to suit the mood. I think we are up to Red, Blue, Grey, and Black thus far. The BL 4000 was a little more delicate to clean, especially the grilles, which have all been changed to the newer look of Black. We have 4 different colour alu. front plates for the BL 4000 sets, and it is much easier to unplug them and change the plates as we like when they are located at ground level.

What special ceiling bracket do you mean? The wall mount was included in the set with buying, but do you have pictures of this ceiling bracket and the way it looks after placing the beolab 4000 on it? Couldn't find it at STB either.

A few suggestions:

1. Should you wall mount the two BL 6000 as rear speakers, consider mounting the pair LOW, and against the wall studs (wood frame ) unless your wall is masonry constructed. Your rear speaker sound should reach you and your audience directly, just over any tables, sofa, or chairs. Mounting the speakers on studs, versus gypsumboard (wallboard) provides better resonance, and more security should something, or someone bump into them accidentally.

As you note, if your speakers are placed too high, you do not receive the full sound as B&O intended for your enjoyment.

I have seen pairs of BL 4000 successfully placed in two restaurants in this manner. So successfully in fact, that despite the large volume of luncheon and dinner patrons, they had to be zoned down. ( That was my Eagle Scout good deed to the Maitre d' of one of the Hotel-restaurants, who was unfamiliar with the B&O steup features, and felt the speakers were getting too loud in the main dining room. He was correct; They were ).

Again, if you choose this option, mount the speakers on a beam, or ceiling 2nd story floor stud, or something sturdy. You achieve again much better sound and mounting security.

I mentioned above that I tried this second method. I later opted for a change of BL 4000 back as front speakers, and replaced the ceiling Bl 4000 with BL 4 as the rear, and ceiling-mounted set of speakers. This is a better sound mixture of one dominant speaker pair, and one subordinate speaker pair for us.

Hello All

I have currently got lab 6000's as rears and do not like these on the floor.

my current setup is below:

My choices are wall mount the 6000's as rears, future maybe add more 6000's for 7.1

Px or swap the 6000's for 4000's and wall mount them at the celing height.

Now i know that surround and rears are supposed to be level with you ears.

4000's would look neater and hidden away up at the celing, what about when i move to 7.1 with extra 4000's???
