You have to have lintronic 238'

for it, otherwise you get a system that not always do the whole macro securely depend on things in the way for beo 5 to one of component at specifik time

maybe you can use MLGW (but you not have delaying possibilites between sequense in macro) if you have interface converting from lightsystem to ir for screen, projector and so on(and you are back to 238')

and MLGW it's 8time more expensive then 238'

Re: Projector to Beovision 10?

Hi,

You must make sure that all IR eyes - BV10, projector, screen, light get the commands from your Beo5 macro. May work. I never tried it. The BS3 has a cinema output that can be used as a trigger for the Lintronic box, so the cinema trigger will be distributed from one central point through one single device. I have IR emitters connected from the lintronic box to the screen, projector, light....to make sure that the whole macro works. Wouldn`t make much sense, if the BV picture is muted, the lights dimmed, the projector activated, but the screen doesn`t come down. I have also programmed delays to the macros. For example after "cinema off" the Lintronic box waits 90 sec. and disconnects projector and screen from the mains - after the projector has cooled down. Another example: pressing standby when the system is in cinema mode, will result in turning the system first to "cinema off" mode and then let it go in standby mode. Simple....

It seems that the Gefen HDMI expander is the way to go.

Now, sorry for my ignorance Stefan and Seanie, let me ask you why is the Lintronic-238 needed. I have a Beo 5 and Lutron Radio RA2 for lighting. I thought Beo5 could be programmed to control some compatible lighting (which is the case) and IRed third party devices which would be the case with the projector and the screen.

I read some comment about how great the Lintronik is and also read the specifications in their website but I still don't understand the advantages or the disadvantages to have just the beo 5 for that matter. Could you please comment on the specific advantages.

Re: Projector to Beovision 10?

In the configuration described in my previous post the Gefen switch will be controled by the PUC of the BV10, not by the Lintronic box.

You can route the internal DVB HD modul to the Gefen switch, or use a splitter and a second input of the projector...

Lintronic all the way for automation, perhaps some of your devices have two HDMI outputs or a HDMI IR switch box that the lintronic could activate, this of course would not help if your content is an internal tv device like the Freeview receiver.

There is a 4x2 version of the Gefen switcher with four HDMI inputs and two outputs. Connect your HD sources to the four inputs and the first output to BV10, second to the projector. Now you have five HDMI inputs and both panels connected. Let the BV10 control the switcher. To control the BV10, the projector, screen, light, curtains...get a Lintronic -238 box - you `need it anyway, also if you had a BV7-40. Program a macro triggered by a "cinema on" command. This could be: BV10 P.MUTE, SPEAKER 5, Projector on, screen down, dim light.... "cinema off" command can activate: BV10 PICTURE, projector off, screen up, brighten light.... You will have four HDMI inputs for TV- and projector and one HDMI input just for TV. Ididn`t test this configuration, because I don`t have a BV10 - I got a BV7 with projector (Hitachi) and motor screen - but should work.

The BeoSystem 3 based TVs have a DVI output that runs straight to the projector along with the ability to control the projector and seamlessly switch between the two.
