I too have a BC2. I like it but the operation is not as user friendly as it might be - the naming of CDs is far too labour intensive and I would prefer the audio feedback of the latest models when pressing buttons. Performance is fine but who would buy a non Blu-ray player for this sort of money these days? As all my rooms work by remote, and use my hard disc for music and rarely watch DVDs, it could almost be in a cupboard. The BS5 type of device is the way forward now.

Hmm, yes agree to some extent.. RE the BS5, I actually have my BC2 hooked up via a beoport and a mac mini. A BS5 would be completely useless for me as the BC2 can do everything a BS5 can do, particularly as i have all hooked up to my BV8 40 and can display artwork on the tv if i wish... Other than the BS5 looking cool, I'd have absolutely no use for it.

I also have the Beocentre 2, and I love it! I can compare it with the older Beocentre 9500 and the Beosound 1, which both are great but there is definetely something very classic (and classy!) about the BC2. I'm guessing it is fit to become a classic, along with the BS 9000 and beolab 5:s but it may take a little more time for it to do so.

C-H

Beocentre 2

Hello Friends

I read with interest the "what is your best/favourite B&O" post.....

I wondered why no one even so much as mentioned the beocentre 2. It was my first major B&O purchase and I've loved it the four years I've had it.

Just curious, but is this not considered a classic, or merely a foray into design and little else? I don't as yet have another B&O CD/tuner so have nothing to compare it to. I'm interested in people's views.
