Many thanks for your reply. We tried changing B/G on the tuning screen, but the up/down arrows didn't seem to change anything when we had it highlighted. We did manage to get our Freeview box to work via the SCART socket, so sanity has been restored ;-)

Still trying to get the analogue tuning to work, although may be short-lived as we head towards the digital age. Having some email back-and-forth with B&O customer care. Slowly making progress - we managed to add "TUNE" to the list of options on the Beo4 display (I can explain how to do this if anyone is interested). In theory, having selected "TUNE", pressing "Go" then the yellow button should switch to PAL I, but this doesn't seem to work - maybe we don't have the TV in the correct mode. We're awaiting another reply from them. If we do manage to get it to work, I'll drop a note back in case anyone else has the same question.

Kind regards,

http://www.digitaluk.co.uk/when_do_i_switch/central

which implies that 2011 will be the changeover date to an all digital service, so you will need a digital box from that time onwards anyway.

Re: Beovision MX7000 PAL B/G to PAL I ?

hi and welcome!

if the tv is capable should be able to do it from the menu button on the remote

menu

setup

manual tuning then as you say get the banner with various variable , should be able to get to the b/g position with the sideways arrows then try scrolling with the vertical arrows until you get the correct setting (cannot remember at the moment) I had to do the same when I moved to france although my 7000 was one of the last produced - earlier ones had a single channel tuner!

If it doesn't work all that is left is to use a freeview box into a scart socket!

hope it works!

salut

My first post, so hopefully not a dumb blonde question...

Is it possible to reconfigure our MX7000 (bought ~11 years ago while living in Holland) from PAL B/G to PAL I so that the sound works correctly in the UK ? One very helpful dealer suggested we could do this via the remote control, but pressing "LIST" repeatedly would not bring up "SHIFT" on the display (after which we were supposed to press "3" to toggle to PAL I). Another dealer said we could do this from the on-screen tuning menu, but cannot find a key which changes B/G to I on the channel display across the top of the screen. Appreciate any suggestions. Telly is a bit dull with no sound, but still very nice to look at.

Many thanks,

Chris
