Ok, asked a the dealer and he said the BC1 from 2001 isnt capable and there is no way to update it so it will be capable.

Maybe a tip for people who want to buy a second hand BC1.

Another tip is to ask if the DVD is already been replaced because it seems that even the 2004 series have a known failing problem with that specific feature.

Someone has a BC 1 from 2001 that doesnt size up the screen, when a dvd is played. Meaning when you play a dvd and then push the blue button on the beo4. A selection bar on the upper screen appears. when I turn it into 1.33 view mode it scales up but freezes the motion. When pressing "go "it scales down again.

I have a BC 1 from 2004 myself which does the upscaling with motion picture just fine.

Does anyone have an idea why the BC 1 isnt capable of scaling up in motion modus ?

Is there maybe an SW update possible ?
