Off topic for this thread, but I agree. My display of the Beoworld forum (using Firefox on a PC) suddenly reverted to an odd text only layout when looking through that thread. (Main site and other websites not affected.) Could only sort this out with a complete restart. Needless to say my Apple Mac was completely unaffected!

Hopefully it was something accidentally copied and pasted and not malicious, although I now wonder, considering the completely unnecessary animosity in some posts.

And why wouldn't the addition of a subwoofer to the BeoLab 3 (or BeoLab 6000, or BeoLab 8000) provide more depth in the range? That is why the 11 was built.

Anyone who suggests that Beolab 11 could be partnered with a Beolab 3 to create a mid-point product between 3's and 9's (maybe mid-priced only) is

a) completely duped by the B&O marketing gumpf and therefore any opinions cannot be relied upon

b) stone deaf and therefore any opinions cannot be relied upon

c) smoking a lot of Weed and therefore any opinions cannot be relied upon

and there's really too few individuals who have $10,500 to spend on speakers and not $23,500 to justify building an intermediate product.

When you consider the addition of a sub, there are now two price-points between the BeoLab 3 and BeoLab 9. The point could be made that the difference between a speaker purpose-built to occupy the mid-point between the BeoLab 3 and the BeoLab 9 would probably sound a lot like BeoLab 3s with a BeoLab 2 or BeoLab 11. It would also force the budget conscious to make the purchase at once as opposed to acquiring the loudspeakers and adding the sub down the road.

As for the gap between the 9s and the 5s: Why bother? I can convert the majority of BeoLab 9 sales into BeoLab 5 sales provided the better half doesn't object to the looks, and there's really too few individuals who have $10,500 to spend on speakers and not $23,500 to justify building an intermediate product.

That's not to say they won't do it, but I can think of a few dozen things I'd like to see first.
