Dear All,

Thank You for all the ideas, but the problem was lied elsewhere.

The problem was petty... and so simple Let me use a four letter word: RTFM. Oh yes, again, that was the solution: There is another switch in the wall, er, there is another switch on the Beolab's amplifier part on the left side - which has an "Audio", "Video" and "Standby" position.

And, as the AV9000 is a video system, it was set to "Video", and that was the problem, for the BC2500 it has to be switched to "Audio".

Now everything is working fine

AT:

With an AV9000 the BL4500 displays working fine

BUT

When I put the powerlink cables into the Beocenters and into the BL4500... then nothing happens, and I'm clueless now...

Turn the BeoCenter "OFF"

- Use the VERY SAME PL-Cables you used to connect to the AV 9000
(dispay worked - so it's obviously a fully (all 8 pins) mounted version!)

- connect these cables to the PL outputs of the BC 2300/2500

- AND move the SWITCH of both BLB 4500s to "AUDIO"
also select "L" for the left and "R" for the right speaker

- Restart your audiosystem ...

If this does not work - contact Service (Center)

1. there is a switch aside the display: if the BL4500 is connected to audio, choose Audio etc.

2. on the back you have a switch to choose Line/Right/Left. If you use PL-cables choose the right channel (right/left).

there should be a sticker on the back of the BL4500 explaining how to connect the speaker

Is there a switch on the back of the speaker for 'video' or 'audio'? I can't remember if this is the case with these. If they are set at 'video' they will display when connected to the AV9000 but not to an audio source. Try switching the switch if there is one. I've found similar to this with Beolab Penta's. If I'm wrong, someone else will put you straight.

Beolab 4500 all features compatibility question

Dear All,

Today I was purchased a pair of Beolab 4500, which are working fine - except they do not turn on with a Beocenter 2300 or with a Beocenter 2500 (both two way versions), and the displays are not working :(

The following cases was tested:

With a simple 5 pin cable both speakers were turned on, and worked well, except the display.

With the power link cables the Beocenter+Beolab combination is working fine.

With an AV9000 the BL4500 displays working fine

BUT

When I put the powerlink cables into the Beocenters and into the BL4500... then nothing happens, and I'm clueless now...

Does it really means, that these, almost the same time B&O systems can not work together in peace and harmony? :(

If the answer is yes, than can You please help me out, which Beocenters or Beosystems are fully compatible with the Beolab 4500?
