The MX7000 is a marvelous TV. We have one for over 15 years and still it works fantastic (and looks amazing too). Especially when you see the current Sony/Philips/Samsung one size fits all look television. Since the flatschreen-TV came, not much inspiration remained in designing the outside of a TV. The MX7000 still looks modern and fits in any interior design.

I can only say: enjoy it!

You know am also going to ask what do you use to lubricate your curtains (and for all those Carry On fans) I'm talking AV9000 here

It's mostly off already in that it's loose most of the way round. A gentle pull will probably bring it off easily. I'll then clean off the old tape and try some of this tape, or a tape that's the same size as used on the AV9000 (which I'll measure tonight if I get the chance). I've seen lots of AV9000's where there is a dirt line down the centre where the curtains meet. I'm not sure what the best cleaning method is for the inside of these screens. I suppose whilst it's off it gives a chance to lubricate the curtains too.

COOL so are you going to take all the glass off clean it up then re tape it back on?

Great news about the MX7000 - a lovely TV.

For the AV9000, I have the same problem on one of my 2 sets. I've just looked on Ebay and found some tape which may be OK as a replacement. 6mm wide, 1mm thick foam tape used in the auto industry etc. Link should be here: TAPE. or:

Some good news from the south, well good enough for me - after my dealer went $1k for my mx7000 it's gone into my local electronics wizards and they're gonna ping me all of $100 so a nice saving there and my beloved mx7000 will work again

The other news was the dealer also said couldn't do my AV9000 so that'll go to the same place after I get my mx back, the only issue is the contrast screen is starting to peel off. So whats the best thing to do, carefully cut round and remove and if so stick it back with what product?

Any suggestions?
