If the platter bounces, it is not in transport mode - this locks the suspension down. All the manuals are actually on site for these decks.

The repairs are actually reasonably straightforward to someone versed in the use of a soldering iron. A local stereo shop could well be a good place to go - building a rapport with a repairer can be most useful!

B&O Beogram 8000 & 8002

I have one of each of these two turntables. The 8000 I have had since new. Lately, it has begun doing various strange things, and from reading many posts here, I see I will need some double-sided tape, cleaning, a cap kit, etc. How does Dillen go about providing these wonderful parts?

I also need a plastic cap (for the 8002) that goes under the tonearm that covers the board below. Plus the 45 record adapter and cartridge cap. I just received the 8002 and it moves a little slow and hums, and a few things under the platter need tightening. The platter wobbles, so maybe it is still in transport mode?

I've ordered manuals and schematics, but I'm not sure I have the experience or enough eyesight to attempt repairs myself. Are there any specialists in the States renowned for this kind of work, or can I just take it to a local stereo repair place along with the parts I get on this forum?

This is my first post, so I am a newb...so I'm sure my questions are probably elementary. Thanks everyone for posting here and keeping these awesome machines running longer than they would without Beoworld!
