To my knowledge the DVB-HD use the "third HDMI". Unfortunately you will not have access to the third HDMI if you choose a BV-40 without the DVB-HD.

In the BV-40 US version there is no DVB-HD option, hence the third HDMI.

Regading Gefen expander it occupy one HDMI but give 4 inputs. So, you win three more HDMI:s, i.e you will have 5 in total.

Yeah, but that doesn't account for the change in contrast ratio etc. BV10-46 has only been released!

My guess, the 3rd hdmi is reserved for an hdmi-expander. (Gefen)

Yes, for example the US BV10-40 has three HDMI's, not two. I seem to recall someone mentioning it's because one of the inputs is taken over my some kind of module in the EU?

US (component) and EU (SCART) versions (may) have different specs !

As far as I know BV10-40 EU and 10-46 EU have not been updated yet!
... "it's planned - but not for the next ?months/?weeks/?days" ...

This is my first post. I have lurked a while but now its time to start contributiong to the forums

I have just taken delivery of my 10-40 yesterday. I was told that it has 2 hdmi's by the installer so I am not a happy boy if the TV has had an update. If it does, would I have any comeback as I was under the impression that it was the latest available.

How do I check the type etc.. I'm still trying to figure it all out

Last time i checked the specs. and i printed it out it says 2 HDMI ,contrast ratio 4000:1 cabinet in black and white so i assume it is an update of screen ?

Good lord, I'd be fuming if I'd bought the BV10-46 and there was a major update, so soon.
