&lt;p&gt;I may be moving back from the US to the UK next year and was planning on selling my US 5500 system and getting another over in the UK.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;However... my wife wants me to keep the current one. I figure they are a little too old to switch voltages automatically though right? Most appliances made in the last 10 years seem to but I figure a 25 year old Hi-Fi won&amp;#39;t do this. Am I right?&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I have a pretty hardcore step down convertor back at my mum and dads in the UK which I could use, but I figure I&amp;#39;m better off just selling this US system and getting a UK 5500 system one when I get there.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;It&amp;#39;s a bummer as the prices seem to be a little steeper for those old systems in the UK than USA. Keep seeing Beogram 5005 / 5500&amp;#39;s for &amp;pound;250. I bought mine here for $250. It&amp;#39;s like a pound per dollar!&lt;/p&gt;
