Quite suprised no-one seems to have spotted (or directed you) to my current listing on ebay...

These are mighty rare ceiling poles for the RL140's...

as has been mentioned in this thread, they come along on ebay once in a blue moon..!!

They are actually due to 'end' later today (Saturday) at about 8.45pm - so if one of you chaps are interested - be quick as some non-beoworlder may just grab 'em..

Thanks,

Clever job. All that's missing compared to the originals is the clamp (needed for adjustments) and the plastic cover for the ceiling mounting plate!

Finding three pairs (including one for RL140) could take years on eBay so something like this seems the way to go - no need to be too fancy as you probably can't see much behind the speakers in a smallish room. Consider also mounting some of them on the wall. If you don't need to adjust them ever again, a suitable angled wooden block in between would do it.

Tilt is easily adjusted though - the weight of the speakers tilts them downwards on the hooks, so you can just install a small support screw (size M4 I recall) in the lower hole of the bracket and use it to tilt them as you wish. The originals work that way too.

Re: Redline speaker mounts

scwilson:

or indeed make my own.

It does not seem such a difficult task. Pretty simple structure as long as you have the correct materials, tools and time for constructing it. It should be fun...

Re: Redline speaker mounts

Ah right ... that's some useful pictures. large block of machined aluminum(?). There's also the plate at the end
of the pole that screws to the ceiling (or floor, as the ones I bought
had been previously used - the inventiveness of some people ).

Of
course if you start doing these yourself they won't have to look or
work the same as the correct mounts. Unless anybody does it first, I
might be able to take a couple of pics of my ceiling mounted 60.2's in a week or so.

Re: Redline speaker mounts

Thank you.
Just thinking here, seems like these ceiling mounts are not hard to make for a DIY minded person, or to let be made by a metalworker. Maybe if someone can post a pic of what they look like? Worth a try as they are indeed hard to come by.

Anyway, I hope you post some pictures when your home cinema is done, I'd love to see the result!

It's just a pole (perhaps 50 mm in diameter) and a moveable clamp around it.

The part of the mounting that attaches to the speaker is actually the same for all mounting options (ceiling pole, floor stand, wall mount) and screws to the rest of the mount. There are two sizes, the RL140 (and RL7000) take the bigger one. The plate is just a piece of bent metal, with hooks that grab the recess in the rear of the speaker that houses the connectors as well.

Redline speaker mounts

Hi all,

So am am setting up a home cinema and I have 6 B&O speakers I will be using for a 6.1 system (need to get a sub yet);

2 x RL45

2 X RL60

2 X RL140

It's a garage conversion so the room is about 10 foot wide by around 19 foot long.

Are there any special mounts available for these speakers? They are quite huge, even the 45s are big.

I want to mount them hanging down from the ceiling but am unsure what to use.

Any ideas?
