I did try the 7" adjustment first which didn't seem to change the set down much. I was not sure how far to turn it as turned the tension seemed to get pretty tight.

In the meantime...I took the drive cable off and I'm having trouble getting it back on. Is there a proceedure for doing this?

Thanks

I have always found that the 7cm set down is the critical adjustment and much coarser. Get that right and the 30cm one is not far off.

The carriage does not move fully to the right, even when the adjustments are correct.

Re: Adjusting Beogram TX2 Set Down Point

Have you follwed the adjustments in the correct order?

The 7" set down point has to adjusted first followed by the 12" set down point.

I have thoroughy reoved the old grease and applied new white grease to the rails. and checked the ecentric adjustments again. The problem remains. I have also noticed that in the stop position, the tonearm carriage does not go all the way back (right) to the end of the rails. Is there anything else I can try?

Thanks

Clean and relubricate the carriage rails, the old silicone grease will have hardened.
And then check the excentric adjustment again.
