Yes the speakers sound fantastic. Since my amp can handle upto 7.1, I am going to purchase an extra 2 RL45s and make a 6.1 set-up;

Front - 2 x RL140

Rear - 2 x RL45

Front Center - 1 x RL45

Rear Center - 1 x RL45

Sub - not sure yet

I'll try and post some pics once it is all sorted.

Re: RL45 loud speaker questions

scwilson:

What speaker cable do you use?

Hi Scott,

Late reply, sorry for that.

Nothing special, just plain 2,5mm2 cables?

Must sound and look great using 5 B&O speakers for a home cinema setup.

For the sub you can use a Cona? Would be great if you could make a picture of these..

I have just finished refurbishing a RL60.2 and RL45.2 using new speaker cloths and luckily I still have the original straps.

Leslie

Re: RL45 loud speaker questions

Thanks Leslie for the advice.

I think the width of the banding for the RL140 is somewhat wider so will have to check tomorrow. 7mm sounds about right for my RL45s but, again will confirm.

What speaker cable do you use? I am also wondering what amp to use. I currently have a Denon AVR1706 7.1 channel amp and was planning on using 5.1 of those channels with the following speaker combinations;

Front - 2 x RL140

Rear - 2 x RL45

Center - 1 x RL45

Sub - not sure yet

My amp is rated at 8 ohms and pumps out 75 watts per channel (RMS).

I am basically creating a home cinema in a room approximately 18 foot long x 10 foot wide. Will be using a projector also.

Re: RL45 loud speaker questions

Sorry, forgot, welcome Scott, to this wonderful site Beoworld

Re: RL45 loud speaker questions

scwilson:

Does anybody know if replacements can be purchased or does anyone use any other sort of material to replace them. It's not a big deal but under the banding was some sort of green glue and I would like to get a replacement to cover this mark.

Scott,

You can use satin ribbon 7mm width instead, looks great. Have used it for my RL60.2, red and white combined!

New here ... and i just received some RL45.2 and RL140 loud speakers (Redline).

The RL140s are in good condition apart from some speaker grill marks but the RL45s bands/straps have snapped. I presume they are called this but there are two on each speaker and they have gone brittle, hence why they snapped.

Does anybody know if replacements can be purchased or does anyone use any other sort of material to replace them. It's not a big deal but under the banding was some sort of green glue and I would like to get a replacement to cover this mark.

On another note - what speaker cable would you recommend I use for these?

Any thoughts?

Thanks
