I am not sure that the IR kit is an "in inventory" item, so it may well have been ordered.

BTW, the Atlanta store's principal is a member here and has been very nice to deal w/ from my viewpoint (they are my store of record).

I lived in Kennesaw for a year '08 - '09 and missed the Atlanta store. Where is it? I'll be passing through there no later than last week of October on my way to Michigan.

Cad: a man whose behavior is unprincipled or dishonorable.

Bounder: a dishonorable man.

Scalawag: a white Southerner acting in support of the reconstruction governments after the American Civil War, often for private gain

Scamp: a mischievous perhaps roguish person, especially a playful, impish youngster

I resemble that remark, dear Russ, but I would NEVER say such about you to your face. And I sure wouldn't do business with me if I were me.

Another likely issue is that the container carrying your order is being held for close inspection by US Customs. This has been an issue over the last few months. In today's world it is becoming the norm.

Of course, when it comes to the odd screw, cable, phone, or link eye, you never know what a dealer might have stuffed in an old box that never gets cleaned out after re-staging the showrooom or the like. Sometimes it might pay to call around and see if you can't strike the deal of the century. Don't know why I thought of that..........

Thanks for the kind words Jeff. I hope you are enjoying your BV4. I do apologize to sodoi for the time it's taking your order to arrive. Usually parts are pretty fast.

Most dealers, especially the independents operate on a "zero inventory model" that B&O suggests. It was OK two or three years ago when there was a US warehouse. Items got here in 3 days. Now everything comes from Europe, and items for the US only leave on Mondays and Thursdays so lead time has increased.

I would love to have a ton of inventory but it's just not practical given the typical inventory turns.

In the last year or two, the dealers keep very little in stock, and I don't believe there is much in the US warehouse. Beo4 is about all that I haven't had to order. It usually takes a week or two (or three) to get anything as it is shipped from Struer on demand.

I ordered an IR Eye Kit from the B&O retailer

The order was placed on 6/16/10 and the last update is the item is in a warehouse in Chicago.

Is this normal if you order with B&O?

Amazing slow - if its the norm
