In my case the CD mechanism was dead and it was replaced.

I never had the speaker issue. As you describe it the power cables seem to work fine. Probably a faulty connection in the speaker itself.

Beosystem 2300 CD and speaker problem

Hi all

We recently dug out of storage our B&O. It has two problems ...

1) The CD player hardly ever works. The CD spins too fast, there is a funny 'clunk' noise just after the door closes, and the laser head seems to park and doesn't move. My girlfriend says that she used to pu pressure on the power-link cables at the back and it used to work then (!?)

2) The LH speaker doesn't work. I've swapped all the power cables around and checked they all work on the RH speaker, but the power light isn't on on the LH one. I have the mains coming straight into the LH one and distibuted from there

After I had swapped and checked all the leads, the CD player worked fine - went out for a walk, came back and it's now inop again

Thanks in advance
