Thank you for your drawing. I could not do it better!

The Cord 6500 with the faulty head is a later version I think. So you guess the 9500 tape deck could be compatible with a 6500? Can you imagine that they made different decks for the models they produced back then?

Could be worth to try it...

Excuses me for the late reply.

The 6500 are 2 type of mechanism deck: with two motors (first version) and one motor (last version).

First, see your 6500 if 1 or 2 motors (if 2 motors, one is up and other is back). If one motor, the deck looks like this image (sorry, i'm not a great artiste)

The Beocenter 9000 is a version with 2 motors, the cables and plugs is not same for Beocord 6500. But the head is same.

I do not know for BeoCenter 9500, I have not the technical documentation. But the same rotary head is used and

I think if the versions are the same like your 6500 (one or two motors), it should go, except perhaps fixing problems and cable/plug lenght.

Re: Beocord 6500 problem

Anyone?

Re: Beocord 6500 problem

Has anybody an idea how the compatability is between the Beocord 6500 tape deck and the one of a Beocenter 9000 and/or 9500? Thank you guys for your hints!

I tried to play the CD over the Tape socket but there was no sound! So I plugged my second Beocord into TAPE and TV/AUX and the sound was just fine. So there must be a problem with the tape deck, don't you think?

Today I will open the Beocord that won't work on bouth channels to looks what Yoyo described!

Check with the idea of Mark.

What may also happen that a cable cut at the rotary heads

You can verify this by making a short-circuiting, with a metal paper clip, the two channels on the output plug heads.

For that we open the unit (2 screws to unscrewed not completly on the back)

MAKE the opération with connector PLUGGED (see photo 2)

If you have the sound on two channels with the paper clip, the cable outlet of the head is cut, see your local Technical Service.

Re: Beocord 6500 problem

Hi Noah yes just pulg the cd into the tape socket if it plays on both left and right the fault lies with the tape deck or cable.

Re: Beocord 6500 problem

Hi Mark.
