If you are going to pay that much I would enquire about the availibility of FreeviewHD compatible version.

FreeviewHD PVR's seem to be ~£150.

btw - I said earlier that CH4HD would arrive later, it's actually broadcasting already.

You should also check freeviewHD availibility in your area, just because you're going digital doesn't mean you will get HD - you can check your postcode HERE

edit - I've just tried my own postcode and it says I won't get it until 2012 - wonder what I'm watching now!

It's because I'm inbetween two transmitters, one is up and running the other won't broadcast HD until 2012. The checker isn't clever enough to tell me about the other transmitter.

OK - well your choice is between the optional inbuilt module or a separate freewview box, as you say. The freeview box solution could have the added benefit of a pvr if you so wish. Also, be aware, that FreeviewHD is now rolling out, certain areas (mine included) now has BBCHD & ITVHD on Freeview (I'm currently watching the world cup opener on it) with CH4 and CH5 to follow soon(ish).

Hello all,

After a few years away from the forum I now need some advice and comments to help me decide the best options for receiving Freeview.

We're due to change-over beginning on August and will be receiving our signal via a repeater mast so the stations are likely to be limited (due to location Sat is impossible) so I do'nt need anything fancy.

I have a BV7 2005 model and would be grateful for any help/advice the best route to take DVB-T or a Set Top Box compatable with the set and Beo4.Hopefully without the need of extra remote and too much cabling.
