I tried to connect my ACD 23" to the BS3 and it doesn't display, just get the blinking white LED. I've tried setting it up from the BS3 as Generic in Non-B&O Monitors and neither Automatic or 1920x1080P display resolutions have worked.

I've connected the ACD up to a PS3 with a DVI-HDMI converter and it worked of sorts, with the top section of the screen being added to the bottom. I guess it was repeating the first 120 lines to make up the 1920x1080P signal to the native 1920x1200 resolution.

Max.

Re: Apple 30" Cinema display (Dual link DVi-D) with BeoSystem 3 (DVI-D) ?

macjonny1:

The BS3 should be able to drive it at the 1080 resolution but it definitely won't drive the 30" display at its max resolution!

Ah yes, I should have mentioned that :-) Good work macjonny

Re: Apple 30" Cinema display (Dual link DVi-D) with BeoSystem 3 (DVI-D) ?

The BS3 should be able to drive it at the 1080 resolution but it definitely won't drive the 30" display at its max resolution!

Re: Apple 30" Cinema display (Dual link DVi-D) with BeoSystem 3 (DVI-D) ?

I only sit with a moderate 20 inch Apple Cineman Display on my Mac but I seem to recall that the 30 inch is very picky on gfx-card to run on, and i think its this "dual link DVI-D". It dosnt just need "DVI-D" but a beefer version of it.

Hope you find a solution

It seems odd. The 30" ACD is a display panel like any other with a DVI to display images either by a computer or another source.

Did you check the system specs on the apple website to see if they match? I think it should all be plug and play now-a-days.

You could try

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2810

http://support.apple.com/manuals/#displays and compare against the specs on http://www.bang-olufsen.com/specifications?productid=135

And check that you've got it on the right output/ input ;-)

It seems logical - but that doesn't mean it actually works.....

Cheers !!
