Hi there -

Mk IIIs and MK IVs have a digital TV receiver in them for Freeview. However, no FreeView HD. B&O does not yet offer an HD terresteral receiver. I imagine this will be a new card for all of us as the spec is unique to the UK, but I may be wrong.

I believe one of the sponsors of BeoWorld, STB Brackets, offer a holder that attaches to the two rear pillars of the TV stand to hold a Sky Box - but please note Sky have recently changed the shape of their box to a smaller unit, so its worth checking you get the right one. This hides it nicely out of the way.

The Sky HD box attaches simply with an HDMI cable. Quick and Easy.

The TV is very nice. The software is not 100% - but this is a feature of all current B&O products and they are regularly updated/fixed - Approx 3-4 times per year currently via a plug-in laptop software update. But if you bought a regular brand you'd likely not be able to update at all - be it software or hardware - so you'd be stuck with the technology of the time.

The BV7 is in my opinion the technical peak of the B&O range due to it having the BeoSystem 3 AV processor and is much of what you are paying for in a product like this. Whereas IMOP, with the BV10, you are mostly paying for styling and materials with a more 'normal' av processor typical of 'normal' priced TVs.

Hope that helps.

regular brand you'd likely not be able to update at all.

That's not true, regular brands can also be updated.

does the tv have freeview built in or can you add freeview and / or freeview hd ?

i want fewer boxes with the tv not more this time as i've got two horrible silver things on a table next to my avant as it is and am trying to declutter the room visually

also can you hang a sky hd box off the back ? does this plug into the dvb-hd ??

what's the general concensus on this tv and are there any looming updates i should be aware of?
