In my area, where there's not too many stations, I use it from time to time and the sound is far superior to any other FM station you'll be able to receive, because the transmitter is so close to the receiver.

Re: BeoSound 3 aux input

elephant:

Alternative solution .. something like those iPod converters that broadcast an FM signal for a car's radio to tune into ? Then the BS3 could play such a source ... not as neat as the original idea, but perhaps something that is more easily achieved.

I do this from time to time. The flat top of the BS3 makes a nice shelf
for the ipod. The problem is finding quality open FM airspace in
congested urban setting.

I know the answer is most probably "no", but I couldn't help ask the question. The BS3 has not aux input, but has SD card slot. Does any company make an audio-jack-to-SD-card adapter? The idea is simple: the adapter takes whatever input is coming through, converts it on-the-fly to a psuedo audio file that the end device then reads. The audio file is continuously added to with new information. Basically, an SD card version of the venerable car cassette adapter.

If yes, I will acquire a BS3 at once! If no, well... its usefulness would be much diminished.
