Not as spooky as it sounds! I think that was the month the 'New' Beoworld launched.

I just read in a review that the tv has to be able to show 1050p/50. But I'll might try some of your ideas!

And... yes, Brian, it's a kind of spooky!!!

Re: 1080p/50

Jean.
I also wanted a HD camcorder and wanted to see the benefits on my Mk11 7/40.

I eventually went for a Sony model, and bought a PS3 to see the results. I can, actually see the HD movie by connecting the camera directly to the telly using component cables, HD is just great. To see the benefits on disc, and without having to buy a Blue Ray writeable drive, I burned my HD files on to AVCHD which is a Sony sponsered format writeable on a normal DVD which is read by the PS3 into perfect high definition.

Good luck with your choice.

Try first to find a sample movie produced by the camera on the web. Most review sites post sample files.

Then try to play it using a computer connected to the TV. In any case, even if you buy the camcorder, you will have to transfer and edit the movies on your computer. Perhaps you will need also a new faster computer as HD videos are huge and very demanding. So, be prepared. If you have a PS3, you can also use it for testing if the files are compatible.

Also ensure that the TV has a recent software installed ( I have version 8.02 on mine).

Old versions had problems with some combinations of frame rates and resolutions.

Good luck,

I'm looking for a new camcorder and have read a lot great about the new Panasonic models recording in 1080p/50 but I'm not sure if my TV will deliver this input better than the older 1080i camcorders. I have the 7-40 mk3 and cannot found the specs about this. I have read that the tv have to be ready to 1080p/50 before it works... please help!!!
