In fact, which TV's have the BS3 processor? As we all know it's not about the panel (whether sourced from Samsung, Sharp or whomever). It's all about the processor (Kuro, BS3, Viera, BE3).

In the US, the BV 7 and BV 9 have the BS 3 built in. The actual separate BS 3 processor is designed to be used with the BV 4, though it is not built into the screen itself (the BV 4 103" may have it built, I'm not sure about that one). Other non B&O screens can be used with the BS 3 as well.

The US BV8-40 does not have a tuner and most televisions will not have one going forward. There is simply not enough use in the US to justify the incorporation. And I have compared the PQ on both and the BeoVision 8-40 is more capable in pulling detail out of blacks. The BeoVision 10 is noticeably weak on this one point, though stands out in every other respect in terms of edge lit LCDs.

That being said, for my money I'd rather be a BeoVision 10 owner than a BeoVision 8 owner. The minor deficiency in PQ is a small price to pay for such a beautiful machine. That's me speaking personally, though.

Thanks for the feedback Trip, it is appreciated! That's kind of along the lines of what I was thinking, but I haven't had the chance to see a BV 8-40 yet.

Me too. The lack of LED backlight is the fundamental reason that keeps me from buying one.

Dear Trip:

Would you please clarified if and when the BV 7 is going to see an upgrade? What's the upgrade? New processor? New screen? The current BV 7-40 is defected. B&O has agreed to replace it. I would to hold off and perhaps upgrade to an LED screen.

Will the panning be vastly improved going from the 60Hz MKIII to the 200Hz MKV.

There's a noticeable difference between my old MKIII and the latest MKIV. Probably not worth the expensive upgrade, but there's an improvement.

I should be getting my MKV next week and will let you all know what the step up is like to the 200Hz.

All I can really say now though is that I am very excited about it!!

Technically better.

I've seen the BV10-46 next to a BV7-40 MKIV and the picture was sharper and more clean. The BV9 has a better picture, too.
