Setting things up like this really requires some technical skills and I would never have figured this out without support! :-)

One final question related to this:

Initially I was hoping to use the "DTV" button on the BEO 4 for the Motorola (now I have assigned V.AUX, but also DVD2 or V.MEM works fine too). How come I cannot assign the DTV button on the BEO 4 for this ?

I cannot get any picture over Scart at all, no matter if I in the configuration menu on the BV3-32 use "V.AUX", "Decoder" "Non-B&O" ...it simply will not receive the signal from the scart from the Mororola or the Sagem. Is this because i dont have the built in STB card? Or what is the reason?

The two other scarts carries the signal from my DVD1 and Apple TV and works fine..

Hi Keith,

That is actually what I did and the code wasn't longer than this. I sent it to Lintronic as well and he was as surprised too..

I have sent the remote to him, to see were it fails in the decoding, so I guess we have an answer in a few days...

Thanks so far for your help, Keith!

The whole highlighted list is now on the "Clipboard".

Come to this forum and right click in your reply message window and left click PASTE.
Ok, When you say "the full string", how do I get that?..this is all that was shown when I pressed enter. By "full string" , do you mean there is a command to get all of the functions presented in one string?

Actually, I have sent the remote now to Lintronic to have them look at it. Maybe this version of the VIP 1920 is specific for "Comhem" on the Swedish market, after all..

I will let you know what comes out of this..

These are NOT the codes you need and it is no problem that the Lintronic box did not decode your IR capture which is what "FAILED" means.

When you use "Code Learn" and tick the box marked "Copy RemoteControl" on theCode Learn page

Use your original remote to send an IR command and a new window will appear showing the waveform, press the button marked high/low as below

Well, I have the latest configurator software, and choose "code learn" and whatever button i press on the remote ( and I can see a red light blinking quickly on the Lintronic box so it is receiving something) first nothing happens at all and after a few seconds I get "FAILED" on top of the decoded window and "decoding failed…" in the window itself.

The codes i get when I download the codes that are supposed to work, are for example these, but they give no reaction whatsoever on the Motorola VIP-1920 box:

If you capture one or two commands with your Lintronic box and post them here, I will decode them for you.

When you are in the "Code Learn" section of the Lintronic software, Capture a command and when the window appears with the pulse diagram, press the High/Low button and you will see something like the following, just copy it to the clipboard and paste it in your reply here.

A Sony command from Lintronics should look something like the following:-

Pulse, Pause in micro-seconds
02485 ( 189 ) 00495 ( 37 ) = 2980 ( 226 )
01261 ( 95 ) 00525 ( 39 ) = 1786 ( 134 )
00659 ( 51 ) 00531 ( 41 ) = 1190 ( 92 )
00658 ( 51 ) 00531 ( 41 ) = 1189 ( 92 )
00658 ( 51 ) 00530 ( 41 ) = 1188 ( 92 )
01284 ( 97 ) 00499 ( 37 ) = 1783 ( 134 )
00633 ( 49 ) 00582 ( 45 ) = 1215 ( 94 )
00632 ( 49 ) 00533 ( 41 ) = 1165 ( 90 )
01260 ( 95 ) 00525 ( 39 ) = 1785 ( 134 )
00659 ( 51 ) 00531 ( 41 ) = 1190 ( 92 )
00658 ( 51 ) 00531 ( 41 ) = 1189 ( 92 )
00658 ( 51 ) 00531 ( 41 ) = 1189 ( 92 )
00632 ( 49 ) 26174 ( 1989 ) = 26806 ( 2038 )
02485 ( 189 ) 00494 ( 37 ) = 2979 ( 226 )
01259 ( 95 ) 00527 ( 41 ) = 1786 ( 136 )
00658 ( 51 ) 00531 ( 41 ) = 1189 ( 92 )
00631 ( 47 ) 00556 ( 43 ) = 1187 ( 90 )
00658 ( 51 ) 00531 ( 41 ) = 1189 ( 92 )
01260 ( 95 ) 00527 ( 41 ) = 1787 ( 136 )
00658 ( 51 ) 00531 ( 41 ) = 1189 ( 92 )
00633 ( 49 ) 00556 ( 43 ) = 1189 ( 92 )
01260 ( 95 ) 00524 ( 39 ) = 1784 ( 134 )
00659 ( 51 ) 00531 ( 41 ) = 1190 ( 92 )
00632 ( 49 ) 00556 ( 43 ) = 1188 ( 92 )
00659 ( 51 ) 00531 ( 41 ) = 1190 ( 92 )
00631 ( 47 ) 26174 ( 1989 ) = 26805 ( 2036 )
02484 ( 189 ) 00495 ( 37 ) = 2979 ( 226 )
01261 ( 95 ) 00524 ( 39 ) = 1785 ( 134 )
00658 ( 51 ) 00531 ( 41 ) = 1189 ( 92 )
00659 ( 51 ) 00531 ( 41 ) = 1190 ( 92 )
00658 ( 51 ) 00530 ( 41 ) = 1188 ( 92 )
01285 ( 97 ) 00499 ( 37 ) = 1784 ( 134 )
00659 ( 51 ) 00531 ( 41 ) = 1190 ( 92 )
00659 ( 51 ) 00531 ( 41 ) = 1190 ( 92 )
01259 ( 95 ) 00527 ( 41 ) = 1786 ( 136 )
00658 ( 51 ) 00531 ( 41 ) = 1189 ( 92 )
00658 ( 51 ) 00531 ( 41 ) = 1189 ( 92 )
00658 ( 51 ) 00531 ( 41 ) = 1189 ( 92 )
00658 ( 51 ) 65000 ( 4941 ) = 65658 ( 4992 )

Re: IR emitter on a Motorola VIP-1920 STB

Hi Keith,

I have upgraded my Lintronic now with the latest firmware and the new configurator, and the Apple TV can do, if not very fast..but faster scrolling! :-)

However, my problems with the Motorola VIP-1920 persists. As you write, I also think it might be something wrong with the codes ( waiting for answer from Lintronic regarding that) I had another thread going regarding the OPT settings on the BV3 and Beo4, could it be something there? I tried to assign it to DVD2 ( since that worked fine with my Sagem box) but also as v.aux. The Motorola transmits picture with either DVD2 or V.AUX, but not able to control the menues..

It would have been great to be able to use the DTV button, but that seems impossible since the signal don't go through the Scart at all it seems when using that ( i have tried assign "decoder", "v.aux" "non b&O.." but no go) has this to do with the fact that I dont have a built in STB-card ( thats why i bought the Lintronic in the first place) ?

If you offer still stands about having a look at the code sheet, I would be happy to mail it to you :-)

Thanks!

Hi Keith and beolion,

Thanks for your replies!,

Keith, I will go through it all this weekend again. It seems the codes are correct since when it works, it works as it is supposed to. Its just that all of a sudden, nothing happens and I can see that the Lintronic box is receiving the commands correctly (using my BEO4 and having my laptop connected to the box), but nothing happens on the Motorola box. Thats why I though it might be somthing special with just this box since it worked fine with my Sagem. I have been in touch briefly with Michael at Lintronic and he says it should work and they havent had any special issues with the Motorola VIP-1920.

Thanks for you offer to check the codes for me, I will get back to you after/during the weekend .. :-)

Beolion, Thanks for your input also!
So this means you have the emitter in the middle on the tinted plastic front cover and it works fine?
Then I probably dont have to open it up and place it directly on the IR eye or try to find the perfect spot then....
I guess the signal should be strong enough to work.
BTW, I have it placed inside the original stand/box for the BV3-32, the one with shelves and 3 aluminum front doors, if that could have anything to do with reflecting signals or whatever...
The whole user inferface is kind of slow on the Motorola, even when using the original remote. And I suppose the Swedish cable company Comhem hasnt made it better by adding a increadibly user-unfriendly interface to it either :(

I wonder..is the output signal from a lintronic box ..or an STB card the same to all 3 emitters?, since I now only have two devices, AppleTV and a Motorola ( I deleted the codes for the Sagem, just to make sure it wasnt interfearing). I have 3 emitters on the cable to the Lintronic box, I guess its sends all the codes to all the emitters, so they dont have to be placed in a special order, right?

Thanks,

Since the Motorola has a dark tinted, transparant plastic front, the emitter is a bit far from the actual IR eye, maybe this is a problem?
I have used a flashlight to try to see whats behind the dark front cover and I tried different placement of the emitter, still not working 8 out of 10 times..

Anyone has ideas or experiences with this Motorola VIP-1920 and IR emitters?

Hi Peter

I have 3 VIP-1920 which is controlled by my BV using the PUC codes, and my IR eye is placed right in the center of the VIP-1920. And it works perfectly.

Re: IR emitter on a Motorola VIP-1920 STB

Peter:

I recently bought a Lintronic box to control my AppleTV and STB with my BEO4. After setting up the Lintronic with the proper codes for my
AppleTV and my Sagem STB it worked fine (except for the "fast scrolling" on AppleTV which sems not possible, am I right?) otherwise it works perfectly. The Beo4/Lintronic is even more reliable and faster in reaction than the original Apple remote!

But, I decided to change my Sagem box to a new Motorola VIP 1920 to be able to see On-Demand- TV. The Motorola is in the list of controllable STBs on the Lintronic, so that should be a walk in the park.
However, it seems like I haven' t been able to place the emitter properly, since its very often I can't control it with the Beo4, no reaction whatsoever. The original Motorola remote works fine though, and the Lintronic setup works fine too on the Sagem and Apple TV.

Peter,

The Apple TV uses 32 bit NEC protocol with a single bit repeat with a reduced start bit pause which the Lintronic box may not reproduce the correct output for fast scrolling. The Beo5 however will work the Apple TV correctly even on fast scrolling.

I do not know what protocol the Motorla unit uses, but I must assume the provided codes are incorrect. If you capture a couple of commands using the Lintronic box and post them, I will decode it for you.
