Check that one button is not stuck.

Sounds like it could be a broken ribbon cable/connector or dry solder joint.

Call me a miserable old git if you like but you may have bought an expensive Beo4 rather than a cheap BC2300

Re: Dismantling BeoCenter 2300

Hello, thanks for your quick reply.

This is immaculate condition apart from these buttons not working, and I got it for a good price on eBay so I don't really mind too much if I can't fix it!

So far, I have managed to dismantle it up to the keypad apart from there seems to be this metal plate behind the keypad which I cannot remove. Do you have any idea how?

Edit: I have now managed to get to the buttons, however I do not seem to see anything wrong. Do you know of any other problems which effect the buttons not being read?

Edit2: After looking around, I think that the problem is quite deep so I have decided to give up. The other slight problem I have noticed is that the doors do not shut all the way, there is a gap, but if I push them manually, I can shut them. Is there any way to adjust this please?

Re: Dismantling BeoCenter 2300

If you have just bought it, I would return it to the seller and try to get a refund!!

But if you still want to go ahead, you don't need to take the back off to get to the buttons.

Remove the glass doors, then prise off the black plastic panels which were behind the doors. Be carefull as the are easy to scratch!

The center panel is retained by 8(?) obvious screws. The CD clamp will come with it but it takes a bit of thinking about - and a bit of gentle persuasion.

If you still want to get the back off then it's a fair bet that you have not removed the aerial bracket or the screw in the center of the back which would otherwise hold it if you had one!!!

Dismantling BeoCenter 2300

Hello, I have recently purchased a BeoCenter 2300, and I have discovered that 2 rows of the buttons do not work. So I am trying to open it up in order to fix/replace the buttons.

To try and help me, I have downloaded the service manual for it, but that it absolutely no help at all! I have tried undoing the screws on the back and then sliding the case off, but it just will not work! If anyone could explain to me how to dismantle it, that would be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance!
