@PaulWinn: the beolab 5 speaker is purpose built, where form follows function and that explains the shape of the speaker. If you look at the design studies you will realize that the ALT technology gives not much room for another design.

I think they did a great job in designing speakers with that performance that don't look like conventional speakers.

I love the design and would NEVER trade them for anything else.

I'm not sure if bad design is the same as bad quality but my A8's for the serenata has just broken for the 3rd time in under 2 years. I despair!!

Agreed! For a company that prided itself on the linking of its products and the use of one remote for a variety of functions, it was a strange one indeed :)

Fair play Peter, but 300-odd notes is a lot for any ornament no matter how whimsical!

I can't really think of anything that I don't like in some form or fashion. The only thing I can come up with: the co-branded stuff like BS6 and the Serenata... With that said... I love my Serene!

BeoVision 3 I think is a total mess

Never warmed to BeoSound 1 or Beocentre 2

The Beolab 5 have reasons to look like that, and as an uncompromising technical achievement I completely forgive them for being ugly

Have to agree about BV3. For some reason, that on the castor stand is about the only B&O product that makes my stomach turn...

Never was too fond of the triangles hanging off of things either.

I love the serenata design, BV8 design, BV9 design, beo1 design, BV3 yellow colour, green beolabs, bm8000, only things i would concur with are the beo 5 and the beosound 5 (but the BS5 just because it's a piece of shi* to setup.

I was completely unaware that the BV3 came in yellow until very recently and was very eager to see it, mostly because I imagined a canary tone from a Ferrari or Beocom 2 only to find that pale hue. Not for me I suppose, unless I saw a terrible picture or something. Prove me wrong

I've just thought of a definate #1 in my list .......... any product released in so - called special/limited edition Gold (thank God the Beo1 remote was obsolete before they made it even more abhorrent). Absolutely disgusting & ostentatous beyond the limits of taste - except perhaps the Beosound 1 which for some strange reason manages to carry it off.
