Because of my house layout(open pla) I already have an ir reducer because I have a bc9300 (stand alone) and a bv7.32/bc2 in my lounge area and the bc9300 used to boot up due to spurious ir signals another solution to the proble is to open up the beo4 and coat/blank off part of the ir led(tip from a BnO dealer in Shrewsbury UK- - used a model paint opaquifier to good advantage

will continue to post as more info to hand!

least of all evils - giving you access to all sources and "solving" the inherent command doubling issue when
A.Opt 2 + V.OPT 2 is used for units beeing in the same room!

Call your B&O dealer and order an IR damper B&O ItemNr 3160078 (BEO4 Reduced Range) - i'ts a one digit
Euro item and can easily send by post.

A similar part is available for BL1000 - (but has to be glued on) while the Beo4 version is "plug on/off"

WORKAROUND:
(as previously posted)

buy/use IR Damper 160078 for Beo 4
you'll have to "target" at your B&O TV
you'll have to detach the IR damper temporarily to select "A.Aux"

yep you're correct with the cd problem my just discovered earlier this afternoon solution when i could not select any tracks once the cd playing is to press sound then the track number and advance like that - have not tried with the beo 4 as yet bot a similar work round must lie in there somewhere!

life gets complex don't it!!

Hi Tony,

of course "A.Opt" "2" + "V.Opt" "2" is a work araund regarding the "A.Aux" issue of the BeoLink Converter
The command goes "parallel" and directly to both units and it does not matter anymore the BL-Converter
is blocking this command.

BUT !!!

All other comands like the digits for selecting a track/progam as well as "Step Up" or ""Step Down" are
doubled (BL-Converter will forward these commands)!

RESULT:

You can not step to the next program/track, you'll always go 2 steps up/down

you press "2" and will get "22"

WORKAROUND for the Opt 2+2 (command doubling issue):

use IR Damper 3160078 - (BEO4 Reduced Range) being used in B&O Shops worldwide, but

you'll have to target at your B&O TV and have to detach the IR damper temorarily to select "A.Aux"

(... some kind of a hollow victory, IMHO)

Ok guys

Whilst playing around setting up the system yesterday had another go with the options setup and now with

Video(tv) programmed to option 2 and

Audio(bs) programmed to option 2

Don't know which is the master master but it all works, and the bl4000's are called up whatever is the source, the bg via a-aux or shift / radio also works

If the tv(or other video pieces) original source ie in operation when an audio source via the bs is called the tv now shuts down and any bs based audio source will kick in/boot up)

NB the bl4000's are off the bs4 and am using the later converter with the sw 1.3 version!!

This really is mystifying but hey who cares I'm now a very happy bunny!

Cannot do that as botyh scarts in use , one with a dvd1 and the other with a vcr8000 which has a load of other junk(sky box and french terrestrial box thro an automatic switcher unit) which connect via the rca sockets on the vcr - they are called up as camcorder - messy but it works - the tv has a multi standard tuner which enabled french tv to be viewed however digitalisation occurs here in finistere on June 8th

Addendum - Workaround:

If you are not using one of your AV/SCART inputs (not very likely todays) you can connect your
turntable/RIAA preamp like a camera (using a SCART <> 3x RCA Phono adaptor) and assign
"V.Aux" to that input.

TV MX7000 SW 4.7 Type 8702 Serial No 16*******

Converter SW 1.3 Type 1611

Converter SW 1.0 Type 1614

Tried both with the tv as master v-2 a-0 no joy all other functions work then both on v-1 a-1 both work

Now you have id'd the problem think its time to accept the situation unless the sw upgrade is not long in coming(if ever!)

I configured a similar setup - MX4000IT SW 3.1 (+BLb4 conected) <> BeoLink Converter SW1.3
<> BSd 4 (updated to current SW = capable of timer recording / 8GB Card) and tested this config
in both options:

V.Opt 2 & A.Opt 0 as well as V.Opt 1 & A.Opt 1

MX4000 and, just for testing, an other MX7000 both "understand" "A.Aux" as well as
"AV" + "A.Aux" (or "AV" + "Shift" + "Radio") and turn on.

Remembered, that a similar issue concerning "A.Aux" on BeoLink Aktive & Passive just recently
has been solved by a new SW 1.6 for these units ...

Double checked by changing the BeoLink converter to an other one (not older then 6 month)
- bad news - same result as before.

The problem seeems to be the BL Converter - obviously beeing not capable forwarding "A.Aux"

Called the B&O tech support and explained that issue. Tech support told me, that this additional
"A.Aux" isssue has not been known before and they will notify the SW guys in Struer ...

been using those command chains with the beo4 and bl1000 and also the v opt 2 a opt 0 - the other aspect being the mx is a later 7000 being from the last year of production so should have the latest software - i'll check later today!

"A.AUX"+ "GO" on Beo4 corresponds to "SHIFT" + "RADIO" on a BL1000.

Maybe the "ancient way" works for your setup MX6000 in "V.Opt" "2" <> BeoLink Converter <> BSd4 "A.Opt" "0"

Ok got it sort of working, can now listen to BG / vinyl thro the system - had to use the ML cofiguration guide as info source the MX and the BS are both programmed to option 1 with the bl4000's off the BS et voila it works but not as previously ie only one source live at a time, with this setup the BG will continue to be herad when the tv is activated etyc

Anyone out there with any thoughts or do I have to live with it?

Yep correct(I think!) as I have been using the on board keypad to action record etc

I have only recently acquired a beo4 so am a virgin so to speak having always used a bl1000 remote tried list-a aux on the beo 4 nothing, used the wheel etc on the bs to get a aux up

think i need lessons in beo4 useage! - quel pr*tt

I'll find the beo4 manual and try to reconstruct the thing - meanwhile an idiots guide would be helpful as i am about 150 miles(200km) from my nearest dealer here in France!

Also, functions by remote work ie tv, v tape, dvd, cd, radio, a tape brings up a mem (sd card) using beo 4 little different by bl1000 as no dvd!
