IR Limiter is a very good idea that will probably solve all problems - I will try that!

Taking it all back is no option at all - I have never let any B&O product leave my home again. I would rather think of an alternative use, e.g. buy a BeoLab 3500 and use it in the garage...

Using the physical volume control is definitely an option. Works well, because I can easily hide the IR eye cable on its way to the wall behind the couch and then use it there. But still, it would be nicer.......

One very positive thing: All this is no problem with music. When I use the Aiport Express connected to the A.Aux of the Beosound 9000 I can control the volume of all speakers simultaneously via my Macbook or the iPhone. Just took me 7 hours yesterday to install it invisibly.

just a thought ... ask your B&O store to lend you their IR limiter for the Beo4

See how you go ... if it is too cumbersome ask them to take it all back

Another thought ... have you tried just using the physical volume controls (^ and v) on the wireless IR eye ?

Hi everyone,

it´s been a couple of days, because I had to get an IR-eye.

Now it´s here and I tried a couple of settings.

The problems remain:

Option "4" switches off the IR-eye unless you use the "LINK"-function of the Beo4. Works quite well if you only want to control the speakers connected to the Wireless. Yes, this is what B&O ment it to be used for. No, it is not what I want to use it for.

Option "6" works quite well also. Volume control works for both the speakers of the Avant and the Beolab4000 connected to the Wireless, since both the IR-eye of the Avant and of the Wireless receive the signal sent by my Beo4.

The problem is: If you want to switch TV-channels or tracks of a CD, you are only able to step up or down by two, since Avant and Wireless both receive a comand and execute it.

A theoretical solution would be to disable the transmitting function of the Wireless receiver in order to keep the volume control but not "confuse" the Audio/Video-Master with a double command.

Is that technically possible?

Any alternative ideas?

If not, I will just return to using B&O products for what they are intended for.

1) Possible? Yes. Reasonable? Seems like the cable is cheaper and more reliable, but to each their own. I've only ran my wireless and wired speakers in the same room for initial testing, but, at the time, I did not notice any delay for the wireless so, assuming you have good wireless connectivity, it should work.

2) You control the volume via the IR-eye on the wireless receiver. Volume control is not sent via MasterLink.

3) Again, you need the IR-eye for this. I don't think a wireless receiver is useful without an IR-eye. It's like a BL-Active without an IR-eye.

Hello everyone!

I have been a passive member for quite a time. Thank you for all the help I have already received here.

But this time searching and reading seems not to be enough:

I have just bought a pair of used Beolink Wireless. One of the ideas on how to use them is to replace the Powerlink cables running through my living room.

The setup: Beovision Avant (Option 2) and a Beosound 9000 (Option 0) with a pair of Beolab 4000s that is currently connected to the Avant.

The plan: "cut" the Powerlink cables from the Avant to the Beolabs in the other corner of the room and replace them with the Beolink Wireless.

Connection between the receiver and transmitter has been established and seems to work. At least the green light shows on both units after they are connected to mains and then turns to standby (continuous red light) after 20 seconds. Avant, BS 9000 and BL Wireless Transmitter are connected in a Distributor.

My idea is to set the BL Wireless to Option 4 ("Used if you install a link room setup in the same room as your main system (for example in

a large L-shaped room with two separate listening positions).") and then use the Beolab 4000 as "link" speakers, though they are in the same room.

My questions:

1) Is this a possible/reasonable setup at all?

2) Can I control the volume level of the Beolab 4000s via the Avant?

3) How can I set the L.OPT for the BL Wireless to "4" if I don´t have an IR-eye?
