Can't comment on the 7-1 but have the 7-2 in a setup similar to tom's only addition is the beolab 2 as well. To my mind the speakers complement each other really well. Go ahead and swop the BL3s with the 8000s. I'm pretty sure you'll like it a lot

they work together very well. I have BL7.1 - BL8000 - BL6000 and I am very satisfied with the sound. For music, I only use speaker 2 mode (stereo) and some times speaker 4 (enhanced stereo), for background music. So the BL7.1 is only in use for news on TV or in speaker 5 mode for movies, and there, it does a very good job. As I live on the second floor, I don't want a BL2, and the BL7.1 goes very deep and is quite powerfull at low frequencies.

There is no problem in using ICE amps and class AB amps together, at least I never heard of problems...

Me too - I've got a pair of 8000s and a 7.1 - how does people rate this setup? I am currently using a my BL3's with the 7.1 - but was thinking of using the 8000s as front speakers with BL3s as rear .. good idea or not?

As i said how does these two sound together in a 3 speaker setup? ICE-power vs A/B-power?

Have anyone listened to this setup?
