In terms of controlling external 3rd party products from the Beovision 7-32 or 7-40 you can purchase a Cinema Control Module to control curtains, lighting and motorised projector screen etc. It has two control outputs which are used to control external equipment.

In terms of cost, well clearly that depends on what you want, but most 3rd party products are the company's standard products and as such do not have to be purchased from B&O.

All the 3rd party lighting systems are standard with Lutron being at the top end and what you will see shown in most B&O shops.

Re: Home automation & Projectors for BV 7

Thanks for the list - i will do some research in the meantime

The B&O strategy is to focus on the bigger fully integrated projects and effectly manage them seperately. This is fine for the big ticket customers, but this does limit the customer who just wants to add a projector and some lighting control.

With the introduction of the Beolink gateway and the Beo5 in particular helped customers who just wished to add a few third party products normally not purchased from B&O and I have compiled a list (not totally complete) of 3rd party products supported by B&O

3BM Smart Light Switch
Samsung Projectors
Xbox360
Apple Remote old model
Apple Remote new model
BtiCino Video Door entry Products
Busch-Jaeger range of automation products
Clipsal lighting control
Daikin Airconditioning BRC4C152
Faber Roller blinds
Feller BeamIT
Future Automation stands and brackets
Helvar Digidim lighting system
Herstal Light Control
Hunter Douglas Shades
Kessebohmer Screen Motion system
Lava RC601 TV stand
LG Airconditioning
LK TOUCH 350 lighting
Lutron Homeworks home Automation
Lutron Maestro
Lutron RadioRA
Lutron Rania Dimmer
Lutron Rania Dual Dimmer
Lutron Sivoia QED shading solutions
Merten 2010 Lighting
Merten 2050 Lighting
Salamander Big Fire Fireplace
Sanyo Airconditioning RCS-8PS3E
Sony_PS2 Slim
Velux WLR 100 Window Blinds
Velux_WUR 101 Window Blinds

All the products above can be directly controlled using the Beo5 and many via the Beolink Gateway. When it comes to projectors Samsung remains B&O's main partner and there can be issues using some non supported projectors with the Beovision 7 as some members have discovered.

Whilst I have stated what B&O supports, this does not need to restrict you choice, I suggest you first decided exactly what you want in terms of functionality and also how much you are prepared to spend.

Re: Home automation & Projectors for BV 7

I agree

Re: Home automation & Projectors for BV 7

Thanks keith,
