ear 252 wbt is not the item with powerlink socket. If the PL is not on sale on their website at the moment you can send them a mail and they will add the PL on the on line shop.

I said I use the ear 252 pl with a bv7 : it's true. the amp is hided behind the BV7 and connected to the sonus faber. But the sources are only audiophile (magnum dynalab fm tuner, linn ikemi cd player ..) and connected to a an audioresearch ls25 preamp wich is connected to a beosound 3000 connected via ML to BV7 and to the other rooms. I also have B&O loudspeakers and the beolab 3 is a good one but the best results are with the non B&O without any doubt.

thanks, It seems that they have a new product acoustic reality ear 252 WBT. dont know whether it works with powerlink... I think beolink passive is not powerful enough to driver high level speakers as b&w.

I think Beolab 3 is definitely a very good speaker. I tried once 3 years ago and it was as good as beolab 5 or beolab 9 but much much better than beolab 6000, 4000, 8000 etc. I just question whether beolab 3 is good when listening to classic music... B&W may be better speakers for classic music?

I have a BV7 connected to sonus faber cremona auditor very similar to B&W 805. I also have 3 beolink passive connected to small loudspeakers like B&W M1.

The good solution for my sonus faber was the acoustic reality ear 252 PL (PL for powerlink) that I bought in 2009: it's a powerfull class D amp from a danish company that you can find for sale only on internet. With the PL model you can connect your B&O 9000 with a powerlink mk2 cable and it allows stand by operation when not used and it's a very good amp.

The price is 1000 euros and the amp is much better than beolink passive. I'd choose the B&W 805 with the acoustic reality if I were you

The 805 and BeoLab 3 are two quite different speakers - both fantastic in their own different way, mainly as a result of the Acoustic Lens (which makes the BeoLab 3 extremely different in it's character).

B&W speakers tend to be extremely picky about the amplifiers you power them with, and I'd say Marantz is a no-no (I've had experience of this exact combination lately). Look at Classé, Bryston or at the least, Rotel amplifiers. Once you've found a sound which works for you, integrating the amplifier shouldn't be an issue.

BeoLab 3s are the simplest solution to go down in terms of plug-in-and-go, but as above, they are really quite different in the way they sound...

If you like the B&W 805, I would get that. Why not simply use a decent power amp - the Quad 405 springs to mind as an easy fix - all remote control will be via the Beosound.

Jeff is correct, you just need one of these. As far as I know you will not need to change any settings either

Powerlink to non B&O amp cable.

I believe you could attach an external amp.

9000 -> PL -to- RCA adapter -> amp

The 9000 would function as tuner/CD source to the amp.

You may need to alter OPTION settings on the 9000???

Anyone else?

So it can power maximum 30w per channel which means the B&W 805 will not get enough power to show its full sound capacity then...

will I be able to connect other amplifiers such as Marantz to beosound 9000?

I would use a BeoLink Passive...

Or, perhaps MCL2P and avoid the ML connection.

I am a happy owner of the fantastic Beosound 9000 and I also love the B&W 805 speaker for its sound and stylish look. How to let both work together without compromising sound quality?
