Another thing I've wondered about......... the very tall floorstands don't look too stable. How many tall BV1 TV assemblies have finished-up in pieces on the floor (thus releasing stands for separate sale?)

Haha! That will never happen. The base weighs as much as the TV. It is ridiculously stable. I wish i had a normal height stand for my BC1.. but can't find it anywhere. might just have to cut the pole down to size, the tall pole can be ordered from B&O still, but i'l bet those parts cost alot...

Re: Beovision 1 Floor Stand

Well, I have to admit to having bought a BV1/BC1 wall stand in the past so that I could move a BC1 from the videostand base that it came with........... but at some of the prices that are being asked for floorstands I think I would look for a complete but faulty BV1 on its floorstand if I needed the latter rather than pay up to £295 for the stand on its own.

Those that do not own a Beovision 1 will more than likely not be looking to buy one so this lessens the demand. As time goes by CRT TVs are becoming less and less popular which equates to a lower demand which leads to a lower value for the TV. And lets face it, if you were to find yourself with the sudden desire to buy a Beovision 1 you will need a stand to put it on (it would be quite unlikely that you'd just have one lying around) hence the two being sold together.

Those that already own a Beovision 1 more than likely love it already and do not want to part with it. Also, because they are so well built and last such a long time they will not need to be upgraded. But sometimes circumstances change, and therefore these owners will be likely to be looking for a different way to place their Beovision. So in this case only a different stand is required.

This means that basically two different markets are catered for...

Re: Beovision 1 Floor Stand

nobby:

Whats a beovision 1 floor stand fetch these days?

Neil

I've seen a badly described BV1 complete with tall stand go for about £120 on eBay. I've also seen someone asking £200 for a short stand on its own (but don't know whether they got it.)

Lifestyle on this site are currently asking £295 for a 3ft high BV1 floorstand (which seems extraordinarily high when you can find a complete BV1 on floorstand for £475 on their site.)
