Here are the actual available devices, you can tre around 25 items in the PUC (thanks Keith) :

I think most dealers charge around £65 for the first hour.

The chips for the avants etc cost around £25, so with labour could go over £100 as it takes longer to install a chip, depending on which tv.

Re: Measly PUC-List on a BV9

BnoBlueBoy:

according to B&O all tv's will come with an empty puc list which will need customising at the time of install.

Sounds like a good reason to ask for a very comprehensive list of STBs to be added to the PUC list when you buy your TV if that's the case (or later when you have to pay to add something). B&O will not be doing themselves any favours if they expect customers to stump up an extra £100 everytime they want to add something to the list not anticipated at the original time of purchase.

Having said that, the original chips in BV5's Avants etc admittedly soon got out of date, and only a handful of STBs on those chips would actually be applicable in any particular country.

Hi,

I was looking through my PUC-list on my BV9 to see if I could enable the RE-BL (or Sony DVD) for my PS3 and noticed that my PUC-List held a measly 5 items in total.

Having spoken to my Dealer today (where I bought my BV9), he has mentioned that they customise the PUC-List to only contain the equipment that I have connected at the time of install, or popular items and nothing else.

This situation seems at odds with my understanding, remembering that my previous BV5 had a healthy PUC-List with many items.

Is this the usual?

I am now being offered to have the RE BL added for another £100.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Scott

All my equipment is old enough to use the STB chips rather than the computer upgradeable lists. Unless there is a restriction on the length of PUC list I think I would be asking the dealer to reinstate the full list that should have been present at the time of purchase at no cost, and only at a charge if your required STB appears only on a later software update. In any case, don't pay £100 just to get a single item added.

(Keith S. will be able to answer this query better than any of us re what should be on an original PUC-List)
