I have checked the service document and had a look in the mechanism. It is basically one large belt. I have cleaned and lubricated but still the same problem. It plays until near the end of the tape and just stops.

I think a new belt is in order. Does anyone know where they can be purchased from

Hi andy i have the same trouble with my beosystem 2500 and yes its the belts

Hi Andy, it may be the belts, but why not try some simple cleaning (if you haven't already!)?

The tape path through the machine, the pinch rollers, the heads etc. Worth a try.

Martin is the man to ask Andy as you say. They might be the same, I know that one type of Beocord 5000 uses the same belts as a Beocenter 9500. So you never know.

Ouverture Tape Problems

My Ouverture tape doesnt play very well. It forwards and rewinds happily however play produces more of a warbling sound. I am presuming the belts need replacing??

I have been competent in replacing belts in the BC 7700 and Boecords 8002 and a 5000. Are these more tricky? I have some belts for a Beocord 5000 are they by chance the same (I expect not!!) Perhaps Martin can point me in the right direction??
