Try a different box! I've had a Box misbehave before, it was either tired from age, or the TV signal was updated and the box didn't know how to resolve it.

Thanks! Yes that works fine but up until the problem occurred the picture was better through the component.

As odd as this will sound, in my experience you are better off using the composite video and S-video connection from most STB's to the Avant/US and relying on the internal video processor. If your satellite box will output a 480i 16:9 signal, try that and report back.

Avant Picture Problem

Our US Avant has recently developed a picture problem. We have a satellite box connected to it through the component inputs. If I set the satellite receiver to a format that fills the entire screen there are intermittent dark waves through the picture. If I set it so the picture is 4X3 with black bars on either side the image is perfect, but slightly off center. Could this be something in the service menu settings that needs to be changed?
