&lt;p&gt;Some common probs with these machines are:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The transport clutch base assembly,a special part only available from B&amp;amp;O.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The turntables.These use photo reflective rotation sensors that become worn and send confusing signals to the computer,particularly in wind and search modes.The safety circuit of the machine will cause it shut down.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The loading gear could be cracked as mentioned in another post.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Good machines though,made for B&amp;amp;O by Hitachi,but enhanced to B&amp;amp;O spec.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;As well,&amp;nbsp;depending on the tape it goes into standby mode&amp;nbsp;when FF or RW is selected.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Everything else is ok, ie play, tuner, record etc.&lt;/p&gt;
