This is one of a very few elite VCRs that really do have an immense portfolio of features.

Think:

Picture in Picture

The ability to show 16 programs on the screen at one time or a freeze frame set of 16 pictures from a tape slowly moving.

Indexing of the contents of a tape by showing the opening frames - up to 16 again

8 hour hi-fi quality audio recording controlled by a timer.

Simulcast recording

audio dubbing

This is a sensational VCR - a few Japanese decks offered similar features but these were also rare and expensive and nothing like as sleek.

Would I buy one now? Of course not! Overheats and very fussy about what it is attached to. Besides, I already have one!!

Re: Two way beovision to go with vx5000

maybe just get another vcr?

I wouldn't touch a 3000 with a barge pole though so maybe a 3500 - this might not work properly though as it was designed to go with the VX5500 and the P-i-P module was designed to be in the TV. I have a VX5000 and it does not work very well with the LX6000 I have for just this reason. The alternative is to find a VX sensor of course!

Re: Two way beovision to go with vx5000

thanks peter,

i was looking for somthing in the mx range (look a bit more modern ) plus it will have to be smallish to go on a chest of drawers (and the lx range wheigh a ton lol)

As it is for my bedroom would like to keep around the same size if i can as i am keeping my motorised wall bracket of the mx (if i can get a two way mx that will fit?).

But if it means getting a bigger screen the so be it?

Many thanks
